This is the first critique I have ever done so I hope I am doing this correctly. First let me tell you how I view art because I think that make a difference.

When I view art that depicts people, whether through drawing, digital, or photography, I usually react to the impact of the image, the way it makes me feel. Then I look deeper to see if I can determine the actual intent of the artist.
Sometimes an artist will create a scene with a focal point that is seen first and foremost but sometimes, there is some small visual second part of the image that my eyes are drawn to and it becomes clear to me that the actual focus is on the smaller difference and for the viewer who is really paying attention. It is as if the most noticeable part of the piece of art, is actually the antithesis of the smaller but true focus of the image.
I don't know if I am explaining this very well.

Now when I first saw this, even in the smaller view, I was in awe. I think it has its own kind of beauty. It has a very strong visual impact, For me it also very dramatic.

The choice of colors for the good and evil entities is perfect.
The white being a color of purity and the red which from my understanding is considered to be an 'angry' color.

This also has an emotional impact as well. We all have times when we struggle with what we know is 'right' by our own morals, and not someone elses, when it would be much easier to do the negative thing. I think you have portrayed the struggle within very clearly.

You have very cleverly used a type of subliminal message. Many people find themselves attracted to doing the wrong thing. The entity in red, is more attractive than the ghostly white entity. The eyes are drawn to the more colorful entity, which is the 'evil' one.

I think this image is very original in nature. The struggle in the mind and heart of the young man is not easy.

The technique, although I know nothing about art in this sense. I have no knowledge of the technical side of art. However I believe that your technique must be quite good as it obviously contributes to the overall structure on this image. The darker part of the image behind them helps to draw the eyes to the forefront of the image. The red and white coloring on the young man also enhances the appearance of his inner turmoil.

The impact? A thought provoking piece of art. It is in a sense a piece of art that I would say has a dark beauty to it. In my opinion it is the outward visualization of what we face from time to time in our lives. We can only hope that we make the correct choice.
